Mixing it up today. To be honest, I haven’t been in the right mindset since the tragic events this week. My heart is heavy, and it didn’t feel right to just drop a bunch of links and act like nothing happened.
This is a sad time for our country. And when you’re a dad, news like this hits different. People told me before I had kids that your perspective changes, but I had no idea just how true that would be.
This isn’t about sides. It’s about life. Human life. And how precious it is.
I started Dad Day as an outlet for myself and for other dads. I don’t have all the answers. I’m figuring it out just like you.
But moments like this remind me of our role. Our job is to set our kids on the right foot. To be their lighthouse. To show them right from wrong. To teach kindness.
If we can do that…if we can raise them with love, strength, and clarity, then I think we’ll be alright.
That’s all I’ve got today. I’ll see you on Monday. In the meantime, hug your kids and remember what matters most.
